ACEROLA (ACEROLA CHERRY)

The fruits of the Acerola cherry are rich in vitamin C. Moreover, it contains, to a lesser extent, vitamin A, vitamins of the B group and minerals. Vitamin C is essential for the correct functionality of the body: it helps several biochemical functions of the body and several enzyme systems. It is also essential for the collagen synthesis, it facilitates the absorption of iron and increases the activity of the immune system.

ACIDO ALFA LIPOICO (ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID)

The alpha-lipoic acid is a co-enzyme that helps several reactions of the energy metabolism. It is a powerful antioxidant which is soluble in both aqueous liquids and fats, and for this reason it can act throughout the entire body, also in the brain. It preserves and increases the effects of other antioxidants, such as vitamin C and vitamin E. Moreover, it is involved in the synthesis of glutathione, facilitating detoxification processes and the neutralization of pollutants. It has also hypoglycemic  effects.

The citric acid is a natural organic acid that can be found in citrus fruit, above all in lemons. It has a flavoring and acidifying effect. Thanks to its antioxidant properties it is used as a natural preservative.

The wakame, whose scientific name is Undaria pinnatifida, is a brown algae of Eastern origin, rich in the carotenoid Fucoxantin. Recent studies have highlighted how this carotenoid can reduce the amount of white adipose tissue, which is located especially in the abdominal area, and stimulating the protein UCP1, it boosts the thermogenesis.

It is a plant of African origin, of which the leaves are used; from their external part is extracted a juice, rich in anthraquinone glycosides, especially aloin and barbaloin. The use under 12 years of age, during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.

It is a gelatinous fluid derived from the central part of the aloe leaf. It doesn’t contain any anthraquinones, that are responsible for the laxative properties of the Aloe ferox, but it is rich in polysaccharides, vitamins and amino-acids. The Althea is a plant rich in mucilage that stratify on the mucous membranes protecting them and facilitating their correct functioning. Moreover, it has a soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory effect and it helps against the cough. Its use is particularly appropriate for the irritations of the oropharyngeal mucosa and of the bronchi, and for respiratory diseases.

ANANAS (PINEAPPLE)

In phytoterapy it is widely known and used a part of the pineapple plant: the stalk. It is a plant of the citrus fruits family, known in phytoterapy with the name Citrus aurantium. From the raw fruit of the bitter orange comes an extract rich in healthy properties. Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, it has recently been discovered that the raw fruit is particularly rich in adrenergic amines, the most important of which is the synephrine. It stimulates fat dissolution from the adipose  tissue and increases metabolic rate, resulting in a higher calorie  consumption.
