Monascus Complex 200 – Cholesterol
Monascus complex 200 is a natural remedy based on monascus purpureus or fermented red rice, Berberis, Fenugreek and coenzyme Q10, a powerful antioxidant.
Natural dietary supplement that contributes to the maintenance of normal levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
Monascus purpureus: it is an extract from the red rice yeast that contains Monacolin K, a natural substance that, for its chemical structure and physical characteristics, has been shown to be very similar to the molecule of statins, that normalize the blood cholesterol.
It is a traditional Chinese product, used since 800 B. C. that was called Hong Qu. It is obtained from common rice (Oryza sativa) fermented with a particular yeast called Monascus purpureus.
Berberis: is a shrub native to the Himalayas and Nepal that contains berberine, an organic compound that reduces LDL cholesterol, preventing harmful effects at the cardiovascular level, and has favorable effects on triglyceride levels and glycemic profile.
Fenugreek: for centuries it has been used as a spice and as a medicinal plant for its antioxidant, restorative, remineralizing, hypoglycemic and hypolipidic properties. Clinical studies have shown a reduction in total cholesterol levels from 15% to 33%, along with a lowering of LDL and triglycerides.
Coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinone: is a substance naturally present in our organism that has antioxidant action, protects in particular the cell membranes from oxidative damages caused by free radicals, its production decreases progressively with the advancing age. Studies have shown that people with hypercholesterolemia and/or hypertension tend to have lower than average Q10 concentrations; its integration is therefore useful to restore normal values.
