Cranberry/Cranberry – Cystitis
Cranberry is a natural remedy for urinary function and drainage of body fluids.
Natural supplement that performs a natural disinfectant of the urinary tract.
Cranberry has antiadhesive activity, hindering the adhesion of Escherichia coli and other gram negative bacteria to the walls of the intestine, bladder and urinary ducts. The anti-adhesive activity depends on the proanthocyanidins A that bind to the fimbie type P of Escherichia coli, preventing it from being attached to the urothelial mucosa.
Numerous studies have shown the effectiveness of cranberry in reducing the incidence of urinary tract infections and facilitating their resolution.
Cranberry also contains other polyphenols, resveratrol and quercetin that act as powerful antioxidants and play anti free radicals. They protect cells and tissues from oxidative stress.
It is advisable to drink plenty of water during the day to facilitate the elimination of bacteria.
